Mary Ellen McCaslin, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Pine Acres in DeKalb, IL. Mary Ellen was born on August 5, 1924 to Moss and Gertrude (Davis) Rutan in Washington, PA. She married Clarence Rasmussen, with whom she had three sons. She then later married Eugene McCaslin.
She was preceded in death by her son, John M. Rasmussen and grandson, John D. Rasmussen.
Mary Ellen is survived by two sons: David (Omelia) Rasmussen of St. Charles, IL and Richard (Vickie) Rasmussen of LaCrescent, MN; step-son Richard McCaslin of Mt Morris, IL; brother Moss Rutan of Akron, OH; six grandchildren: Dan Rasmussen, Michael (Genesee) Rasmussen, Steven (Amber) Rasmussen, Dustin Rasmussen, Justina (Bill) Windham and Kelsey Jern and 12 great grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 1:30 - 2:30 P.M., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle. The funeral will be at 2:30 Saturday at the church with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. The burial will follow at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
