Mary Lucille Megargee, age 88, of Rochelle, went to be with the Lord at her home on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in the care of her loving family. She was born on Oct. 19, 1919 in Russellville, KY, the daughter of John L. and Edna Lee (Gibbs) Ramsey. She married Willis Virgil Ramsey on March 11, 1935, and he preceded her in death. On Oct. 1, 1960 in Rochelle, she married Alfred I. Megargee, who preceded her on Jan. 2, 1993. She was also preceded by her parents, a son: Johnny L. Ramsey in 1994 and a brother: George Ramsey.

Mary attended Crossroads Community Church and had been employed for many years by Caron International before retiring in 1982. She was an avid quilter and gardening enthusiast.

Survivors include 4 sons: Billy J.(Mary) Ramsey Sr. of Allegany, NY, Bobby (Karen "Shordy") Ramsey of Buncombe, IL, Eugene (Linda) Ramsey of Long Lane, MO, and Jerry (Carolyn) Ramsey of Rochelle, IL; her grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren:
4 brothers: Frank (late Bessie) Ramsey, Edward (Debbie) Ramsey, William (Wilma) Ramsey all of Rochelle and Richard (Mary) Ramsey of Rockford and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, with Rev. Steve Boothe officiating, on Thursday, Feb.. 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends and relatives at Unger-Horner from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 13th. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to Crossroads Community Church or Unity Hospice.
