Rochelle

Mary Louise Spencer, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Manor Court in Rochelle, Illinois.  Mary was born on December 13, 1928 to Ray and Sadie (Reed) Wilson in Roseville, IL. She graduated with her bachelor's degree from Western Illinois where she met her future husband on a blind date at Homecoming.  In 1951, she married Donald D. Spencer in Roseville, IL. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1990.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She is survived by three children, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; her son, Jack (Sam) Spencer of Yorkville, IL and their children and grandchildren: Mike Spencer, his children: Adrianna, Reid and Rose, Lisa (Dustin) Hartman and children: Leighton, Luke and Molly, and Brett (Jenny) Spencer and daughter, Penelope; her daughter, Nancy (Donnie) Kessen of Rochelle and their children and grandchild: Karissa (Maegan) Puzas-Kessen, Ashlyn Kessen and Robbie (Abigail) Kessen and son, Mordecai; and daughter, Susan (Greg) Young of Rochelle and their children and granddaughter: Katelynn (Charlie) Crum and daughter, Breelynn, Kersta (Adam) Baker, Teigan Young and MéLisa Young.

In addition to her parents and husband, Don, she was also predeceased by four siblings: Edwin Wilson, Bud Wilson, Jean Johnson and Mae Rosine.

Mary was a faithful and devoted member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
