Mary F. Thompson, 90, of Lindenwood, passed away March 8, 2015 at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehabilitation Center in Shabbona. She, along with her family, resided at 1329 Hwy. 251 North in Lindenwood for almost 40 years. Mary was born June 17, 1924 in Mahaffey, PA to W. Lynn and Della (Johnston) Hipps. She married Richard I. Thompson on June 29, 1946 in Curwensville, PA. Mary worked as a government inspector at the US Army Ordnance Department near Pittsburgh in WWII. She also worked at Borg Warner in Dixon for 27 years. She was a member of the Kings Presbyterian Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents, a daughter, Bonita Gail Dimmig, a son, Donald, and 2 brothers, Harry and Ted.
Survivors include two sons: Thomas R. (Peggy) Thompson of Lindenwood and Ronald L. Thompson of Winnebago; 8 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, and 6 sisters.
Cremation rites arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home. There will be no services. Memorials may be made to the family.
