Mathew Cody Mancillas, 36, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 4, 2023 at Northwestern Medical Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois.  Mathew was born on July 10, 1987 to Raymond "Junior" and Mary Beth (Dummer) Mancilla in DeKalb, IL.

Mathew was proud to be an electrical retrofitter and just recently received a promotion.  He enjoyed music, cooking, and spending time with his kids. It was always a treat to take them to the movies.  Mathew was a computer whiz and was basically good at anything he did.  He and his dad had a mutual love of classic cars and spent many hours working on them together.  When helping his dad with the band, Mathew would sell the band's gear at concerts and always did a great job. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was always available to lend a helping hand.

Mathew is survived by his wife, Andrea Mancillas; children: Damon and Willow Mancillas; father, Junior (Julie Miller) Mancilla of DeKalb, IL; mother, Mary Beth Dummer of Verona, WI; grandparents: Raymond Mancillas of Marshalltown, IA and Janet Dummer of Lindenwood, IL; three siblings: Ryan (Kelly) Mancillas of Amboy, IL, Sonia (Beth) Calhoun-Gilroy of Oregon, IL and Jamie (Shannon) Mancillas of Ashton, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph "Scott" Mancillas; grandmother, Amy Mancillas; grandfather, F. Wayne Dummer and step grandmother, Donna Mancillas.

The visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral service will follow at 4:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home.  Cremation care will follow the service.  Burial will be at a later date at Trinity Memory Gardens.  A memorial will be established.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
