Matthew W. Rosenstiel, age 39, of Sandwich and Ottawa, IL, passed away in Ottawa on November 7, 2019. Matthew was born September 5, 1980 in Aurora, IL. He went to Sandwich Middle and High Schools. He then worked as a store operator as well as a published writer of two stories on Smash Words. He also had works of poetry published. Matthew is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Harold (Evelyn) Rosenstiel, and Harold White.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda White Bergeson and step father, Randy Bergeson of Ottawa, IL; Father, Ralph Rosenstiel; grandmother, Ida White; 3 brothers: Aaron Rosenstiel, Jeremy Rosenstiel, and Philip Rosenstiel; 2 sisters: Heather Rosenstiel Brockman, and Gerldine Bergeson Conrad; 3 step brothers: Darryl Bergeson, David Bergeson, and Dale Bergeson; and step sister, Judy Bergeson Needs; and many uncle, aunts, nephews and nieces.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle, IL with Rev. David Rogula officiating. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral. A memorial has been established. Matthew will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, IL.
