Miguel A. Rodriguez, 43, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Rochelle Community Hospital. Miguel was born in Cook County on April 11,1978, the son of Miguel F. Rodriguez and Maria (Valentin) Rodriguez in Chicago, Illinois.

He met his life partner, Victoria Rodriguez, on December 31, 1999. Although he was a father figure to many they had three handsome sons, Matayo (18), Makhiyo (16) and Matieyko (14) and a niece he helped raise as his own Ayana (Marcos) Cavazos. Miguel worked at Americold Logistics in Rochelle.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Oscar Valentin, Maria Elena Valentin and Miguel Rodriguez Sr. and Carmen Rodriguez.

Miguel is survived by wife, Victoria; children: Matayo, Makhiyo, Matieyko and Ayana; parents, Miguel and Maria Rodriguez; twin sister, Carmen (Juan) Rodriguez of Oak Lawn; brother, Oscar Rodriguez of Chicago and lots of nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Cremation care will follow after the visitation. Memorials may be made in Miguel's memory to Victoria Rodriguez. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that everyone bring photos of Miguel and a written memory, story or what they loved about him for his children to have as they continue their journey.
