Rochelle

Nancy L. Blume, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Manor Court in Rochelle, Illinois.  Nancy was born on June 9, 1938 to Theodore and Leona (Smith) Everest in Rochelle.  On January 25, 1963, she married Richard Blume in Rochelle.

Nancy enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, gardening and canning.  Spending time with her family was very important to her.  She cherished the times she and Richard went camping and fishing with her children and grandchildren.  Family get-togethers and holidays were always a very special time for her.

Nancy is survived by best friend and love of her life for 61 years, Richard, of Rochelle; four sons: David Davis, Paul (Nancy) Davis both of Rochelle, Timothy (Joan) McDougal of Hot Springs Village, AR and Dewey (Christine) McDougal of Freeport, IL; 11 grandchildren: Dustin (Rebecca) Davis, Derek (Ashley) Davis, Naomi Davis, Andi Davis, Sarah (Joe) Herrmann, Joy (Nick) Dertinger, Chantel Davis, Paul (Ivy) Davis, Thalia Eden McDougal, Maya Logronio McDougal, and Althea McDougal; and many great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence "Butch" Everest and Ted Everest and sister, Gloria Patterson.

The visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating.  Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.  A memorial is to be established in Nancy's memory.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
