Nancy L. Hart, 62, of Rochelle, IL died March 25, 2012 at Serenity Hospice and Home of Oregon, IL surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 8, 1949 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Howard and Katherine Foster Hart. Her parents and infant sister Elizabeth Cecilia Hart preceded her death.
Nancy grew up on the family farm south east of Rochelle. Her favorite time of year was fall. She basked in the magnificent colors of Mother Nature. Her love of plants and flowers was evident in her green thumb. Most important to Nancy was her family and friends. Her devotion to her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews was endless. Nancy was a 1967 graduate of R.T.H.S. and worked for the city of Rochelle as an accountant in the RMU department for 40 years, retiring in 2007. Nancy attended Christ the Teacher University Parish in DeKalb, IL.
Nancy is survived by her brother Jim (Jan) Hart of Rochelle and sister Kathy (Barry) Becker of Juneau, WI. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Brendon Becker, Brian (Mindy) Becker, Lissa (Mike) Hagen, Jorie (Brian) Jackson, Jodie (Junior Exantus) Hart, and Jill Hart. Great nieces and nephews include: Caleb Becker, Payton, Paige, Austin, Faith and Grace Becker, Samantha, Kennedy, and Sawyer Hagen, Ben and Emma Jackson, James and Jadon Hart Exantus. Stepmother Eleanor Hart also survives.
Funeral mass will be held Friday 10:00 am March 30, 2012 at Christ the Teacher University Parish, 512 Normal road in DeKalb, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29 from 4 to 8 pm at Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials to UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center in Madison, WI or Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL.
