Obituary

Nancy J. Lange, 76, of Dixon, formerly of Waterman, passed away peacefully Friday,
September 2, 2022, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. After a long battle with
dementia and Alzheimer's, she is now whole and walking the streets of gold with her Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born July 9, 1946 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Eugene
and Lois (Greene) Beach. She graduated from East Aurora High School in 1964, Aurora, IL.
She married Larry Lange on February 27, 1965 in Aurora, IL.
Nancy spent several years in the nursery and greenhouses working at E.L. Fasel & Sons
Greenhouses in Big Rock, IL. She then became a floral designer and opened her own flower
shop in Waterman. She volunteered as an EMT and served several years with the
Waterman Community Fire Protection District retiring with the department as ambulance
Lieutenant.
Nancy enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, IL. She
loved singing in the church choir at Immanuel and later at United Methodist Church in
DeKalb, IL. Her hobbies included working with her plants and flowers, crocheting, reading,
and camping with her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Larry Lange of Dixon; three children, Michael (Karna)
Lange of Belvidere, Heidi (Jay) Bratko of Rochelle, and Mindy (Dennis) Lange-Hamel of
Oregon; six grandchildren, Trevor and Kailey Lange, Matthew, Megan and Mark Bratko, and
Dylan (Elyse) Fisher; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Fisher; a brother, Gordon Beach of
Rhinelander, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lois Beach; twin sons at birth, Grant
Lee and Gary Lee Lange; and a brother Charles Beach.
A memorial funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at
the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 th St. in Rochelle with family friend Richard Criss
officiating. Visitation will precede the service on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00
a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions in Nancy's memory may be directed to
