Nellie M. Stocking, age 94 of Oregon, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at her home in Oregon. She was born on Jan. 5, 1913 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Ray and Minnetta Boler. Nellie married Howard H. Stocking on June 7, 1930 in Rockford, IL and he preceded her on Oct. 9,1984. She was also preceded by a brother Henry and sister: Evelyn Clark.

Nellie had previously been employed as a cook at the commissary at DelMonte Corp. and for Tilton Elementary School in Rochelle. She was a 75 year member of the Lindenwood Union Church, and a member of the Rock River Center, formerly the Yellow Bird Senior Center, the Oregon Friendship Club, and a 75 year member of the Ogle County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include 3 sons: Glenn (Janet) Stocking of Rochelle, Ronald (Joyce) Stocking of Oregon, and David (Kris) Stocking of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also special friends Audrey Stocking and Betsy Blake Hill.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Rev. Les McClellan officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 13th from 3 to 6 PM at Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be at Paynes Point Cemetery and memorials can be made to the Rock River Center.
