Norma Grace Hill 97, of Kings, IL and recently of Franklin Grove, IL passed away on Jan. 24, 2010 at the Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon, IL. She was born to George and Grace (Carmichael) Lewis of Stillman Valley, IL on August 24, 1912. Norma graduated from
Stillman Valley High School in 1930 and then received her teaching degree from Normal Teachers College. She married Clinton J. Hill in 1934 who preceded her in death in Feb. 1973.
Norma was preceded in death by her oldest son, Dr. Roger Hill in 2001 and 2 brothers Homer Lewis and infant brother Faye Lewis and a sister Helen Willkomm.
Surviving children are Nancy (David) Willetts of Centennial, CO, Leanne (Gary) Reynolds of Fountain Hills, AZ and Tom (Betsy) Hill of Kings, IL. Norma loved her grandchildren Doug Willetts, Lori (Mark) VanderWoude, Jason (Candace) Hill, Kristi (Bob) Lindemann, Erik Hill, Nathan Hill and eight great grandchildren. Norma has one living sister, Margaret Hawkins of Dixon, IL.
Norma was a school teacher in both Stillman Valley and Kings for many years. She was active in the Kings Presbyterian Church. A hardworking homemaker, very busy Mom, always available to assist and serve the community, she will be remembered and greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home Rochelle, IL on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle on Friday Jan. 29th at 10:00 a.m. Internment at the White Rock Cemetery in Kings, IL. Family request Memorials be given to Ogle County Hospice.
