Norman G. Gittleson, age 78, of Franklin Grove passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the CGH Hospital in Sterling. He was born on February 11, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of Alfred and Alberta Marcus Gittleson. He married Joyce Annette Furman on January 15, 1959 in Rochelle. Norman was a member for 61 years of the Iron Worker's Local Union 498 as an iron worker, but was a man of all trades. He enjoyed woodworking, and built his home and crafted custom golf clubs. He was an avid golfer, and loved his golden lab buddy's: Jake and Harley.
Preceded in death by his parents and a son: Matthew.

Survived by his wife: Joyce of Franklin Grove, and 4 children: Lea (John) McFarland of Frankfort, IL; Jean Gittleson of Port Washington, WI; Thomas (Sandy) Gittleson of Dixon, IL; and Jerry (Dawn) Gittleson of Dixon; 11 grandchildren: Kristen and Jenna McFarland; Erik and Evan Garcia; Staci (Jim) Morrow, Aidan and Jordin Gittleson; Justin, Cody, Serenity, and Jamie Gittleson; great grandson: Michael Morrow; and 3 siblings: Don Gittleson, Joyce Harrolle and Diane Grey.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM at the Ungen-Horner Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St. Rochelle. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens with military services by the Eastern Lee Ogle Honor Guard.
