OSCAR B. ERDAHL, 91, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Loves Park, Illinois. Oscar was born May 19, 1923 in Lindenwood, Illinois to Ingvald and Bergitte (Erickson) Erdahl. He married Hazel Dougherty on May 19, 1945 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He served our country with the U.S. Army during W.W.II in Japan. Oscar worked for Del Monte for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, in 2005, his son, Harold, granddaughter, Kami Erdahl, and two sisters: Olive Ewald and Borghilde Erdahl.

Oscar is survived by two sons: Douglas (Anastasia Westley) Erdahl of Dixon, IL and Quentin (Jeri) Erdahl of Crossville, TN; daughter, Nancy (Douglas) Enke of Rockford, IL and his brother, Martin Erdahl of Creston, IL, 8 grandchildren: Brian (Janine) Erdahl, Todd (Kristy) Erdahl, Douglas (Kara) Erdahl, Kelly Samp, Sarah (Chris) Upchurch, Jason Enke, Jeremy (Karen) Enke and Ryan (Sarah) Enke and 20 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, July 20 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Lindenwood, IL. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
