Rochelle

Patrick George O'Brien, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, Illinois. Pat was born on November 9, 1948 to George A. and Pauline (Stein) O'Brien in Rochelle. He married Marcia Lorraine Davidson on November 10, 1979 in Rockton, IL. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2015.

In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his parents, brother Michael, brothers-in-law Jim Walker, John Conevera and Larry Cross, and grandson, Brady Patrick O'Brien.

Pat is survived by his three sons: Shawn (Kristen) O'Brien of Hanford, CA, Daniel "DJ" (Michelle) O'Brien of Elgin, IL and Steven (Amanda) O'Brien of Ashton, IL; five brothers: John (Ann) O'Brien of Rochelle, Timothy (Beverly) O'Brien of Rochelle, Thomas (Diana) O'Brien of Winnebago, IL, William (Carmen) O'Brien of Marion, IA and Mark "Vince" (Debbie) O'Brien of Rochelle; five sisters: Mary Walker of Holiday, FL, Kathleen (Mike) Dailey of Rochelle, Margaret O'Brien of Holiday, FL, Sharon O'Brien of Rockford, IL and Caroline (Jim) Cappel of Rochelle, IL; four grandchildren: Siarah and Stone O'Brien, Logan and Leah O'Brien, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa, friend and Veteran and will be missed by all. Since retiring as Terminal Manager at BP in 2009, Pat was able to travel the country with Marcia. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, watching Notre Dame football and John Wayne movies, and spending time with family and friends. Pat also proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967 – 1970 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class (AMH).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Rochelle VFW, 318 4th Avenue with military services provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard and Pastor David Rogula officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 1:00-2:45P.M.
