Paul K. Crum, 80, was taken home to live with his Heavenly Father on October 12, 2013. He passed away in Florida where he was surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Verda Owdia Crum of twenty-three years, his four children Sharon (Tom) Balcer, Mike Crum, Joseph Crum, and Sheila (Chris) Rojek, and the mother of his children, F. Jeanette Crum. Grandchildren include Natalie Cole, Elizabeth Sheppard, Benjamin Balcer, Micael Ezra Crum, Joseph A. Crum, Madeline Rose Crum, Jane Kessen, Caleb, Christopher, and Suzy Rojek.
He is also survived by three step-children, Angie (Glenn) Hansen, Jenny (Brian) Elder, and Russell Brannon, and seven step-grandchildren including Ashley Simms, Adam and Nolan Hansen, Corinne and Sarah Hay, and Logan and Conner Brannon.
In addition, he also had eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was born to Jim and Dolly (Bowman) Crum in Greenville, Tenn. on May 9, 1933, and had twelve brothers and sisters. He's survived by two sisters: Audrey Sue Fox and Madge Lilly. He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Jimmy Neal Crum, Jack Crum, Kermit Crum, Kennie Crum, Wade Crum, Rex Crum, and sisters Louise Crum, Wanda Bergner, Charlotte Hicks, and Rochelle Waybright, all of Greenville, Tenn.
Paul was a member of First Baptist Church of Rochelle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country from 1951-1955. Paul retired after twenty-one years from the US Postal Service.
Paul will be missed dearly by his many friends and family.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Rochelle, IL on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow with Reverend Doug Cowan officiating.
At a later date, he will be laid to rest in Harris Memorial Cemetery in Greeneville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Rochelle, the American Heart Association, or Harris Memorial Cemetery.
