Paul C. Mickley, 81 of Rochelle, IL passed away Wednesday Dec. 21, 2011 at home after a long illness. He was born Oct. 14, 1930 in Rochelle the son of Paul B. and Lillian Askeland Mickley. On Dec. 18, 1954 he married Mary L. Sexton in Rochelle, IL. Paul was a plumber for Local Union 23 and for Rochelle Plumbing and Heating. Preceding him in death were two sons:
Jeff in 1955 and Gary in 1986.
He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 3878 in Rochelle was a past Commander from1981-1982 and also1984-1986. and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Surviving: wife Mary, sons Kevin L. Mickley of Rochelle, IL and Larry R. Mickley of St. Petersburg, FL. Daughter Pam (Richard Elliott) Browning of Rochelle. Brothers Charles Hintzsche of Necedah, WI, and John Hintzsche of Ankeny, IA, sisters Mary Jane Makela of Elkhart, IND and Frances Davidson of Melbourne, AR; 4 grandchildren: Heath (Annette) Mickley of Rochelle, Krystle Browning of Ashton, Tabitha Berlin of TN and Marissa Mickley of AR; 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons.
Funeral services will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, with Rev. Steve Dow
on Sat. Dec. 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation on Friday from 4 to 7 at Unger-Horner.
Burial at Lawnridge Mausoleum with Military Services by Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard. Family requests memorials to VFW Post 3878 or OSF Hospice.
