Randy Daryl Bergeson, 70, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Hines VA Medical Center in Hines, Illinois. Randy was born February 19, 1956, in Rochelle, Illinois, the son of Walter and Edith (Shaw) Bergeson.

Randy was a proud member of the United States Marines and carried great pride in his service to his country throughout his life.

He married Brenda S. White on July 5th 2001. They have been together for 36 years.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edith Bergeson; brothers, Richard and Edward Bergeson, and two step-sons, Matthew and Aaron Rosenstiel.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda Bergeson; his sons, Darryl Bergeson, David Bergeson, Dale (Erin) Bergeson and Jason Hardcastle; three step-sons, Jeremy Rosenstiel, Philip Rosenstiel, and Jessie Burns; his daughters, Judy Bergeson-Needs, Geraldine Bergeson Conrad and Kristina Bergeson; two step-daughters, Heather (Steven) Rosenstiel Brockman and Christina Burns; two sisters, Connie Kelchner of Fort Myers, Florida and Lona Berkeley of Dixon, Illinois; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard and the United States Marines. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
