Randall W. Danekas, age 66, died on October 31, 2018 at the Swedish American Hospital after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. He was born on March 6, 1952 in Chicago IL, the son of Herman F. and Dora Dean (Holifield) Danekas. Randy knew from a very young age he wanted to be a pilot, and he was able to live out his dream as a Cargo Pilot up until he retired, due to his health. He also enjoyed farming as a boy with his father, spending time with his family and enjoying the many times at his cabin in Wisconsin. Randy had many close friends that truly enriched his life. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by his 2 daughters: Rachel Geske of Rochelle, and Daneille (Joe) Ciulla of Rockford; 2 grandchildren: Ashlyn and Connor; sister, Gwynne (Steve) Myers of Bonita Springs, FL; and 2 nieces: Allison and Meredith.
