Ray Dean Rigg, 64, of Rochelle, surrounded by his family, peacefully went to meet his Maker on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home. He kept a smile on his face and was always thankful to
all those who helped care for him after his November 7, 2009 diagnosis of Mesothelioma. The disease took over his physical body but love outpoured from his soul until his final breath.
Ray was born on February 6, 1946 in Ellery, IL, the son of Omer and Sadie (Wagner) Rigg. He moved to Rochelle and started his career at Del Monte #199 in 1965. Ray married Janet
Harrell on November. 27, 1965.
Survivors include his wife Janet of Rochelle; daughters: Becky (Mark) Ackland of Rochelle
and Jill (Mike) Secor of Marengo, IL; 6 Grand Angels: Megan, Carley, Callie and Katelyn Ackland and Hannah and Zachary Secor; brothers: Galen and Larry; aunt: Lulu Cannon;
mother-in-law: Ferne Harrell, as well as many other special relatives. Preceded by his parents,
and his brother: Denny, whose funeral was February. 16, 2010 and by many other loved ones.
There will be a Celebration of Life for all those who loved Ray on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Rochelle United Methodist Church with Pastor Brett A. Todd. . .the message entitled "The Price is Right–Let's Make A Deal". Visitation time will be prior to service from Noon to 1:45 PM. A meal will follow services at Hicks Hall. Burial at Lawnridge

Grandpa, always a provider, has requested his memorials to the family for the education of his grandchildren. We also encourage a gift to Locks of Love to which the Ackland girls recently donated 42 inches in honor of Grandpa..
