Raymond Joseph Brass, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 22, 1942 in Razikapan, India, the son of Baden and Alice (Abraham) Brass. Raymond became a US Citizen in 1976. Prior to retiring, Raymond worked as a Mortgage Lender in Mount Morris and then at Harris Bank. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Winston Brass.

Raymond was devoted to his family and his faith. He enjoyed being knowledgeable and sharing time, conversations, and food with his family and friends. He was an extremely generous soul who enjoyed cooking, aviation, history, cricket, and the Chicago Bears. Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survived by his daughter, Michelle (Kyle Boute) Brass of Loves Park; son, Anthony Brass of Rochelle; brother, Neville (Tricia) Brass of Seminole, FL; sister, Shirley (Del) Graves of Englewood, OH; sister-in-law: Pauline Brass of Rochelle; nieces and nephews: Renee Brass, Denise (Jeff) Hansford, Andre (Marguerite) Brass, Elise (Jeff) Rexroat, Yvonne Brass, Dionne (Chad) Horner, and Jeannette (Brad) Koeller, Dawn (Michael) Daponte, Tanya (Gene) Todd, and Donnie (Rebecca) English; many great nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Tony James of Canada.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February, 3, 2025 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle, with Father Jesus Dominguez officiating. Visitation will be prior to mass from 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. Cremation rites will follow. Family burial of  his cremated body will be at St. Patrick Cemetery the following day.
