Raymond Ellis McCaslin, 77, of Steward, IL, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 18, 1935 in Rochelle, to Raymond S. and Imogene M. (Ellis) McCaslin. In 1952, he entered the U. S. Army, serving in Germany, and was discharged in 1956, as Sgt. First Class. Ray married Ardith A. Dittmar on Oct. 18, 1958 in Creston, IL. Prior to retiring, he was a Warehouse Foreman for Del Monte, working there for 35 years. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son, Steven.


Survivors include his wife: Ardith of Steward; daughters: Sue (Bill) Messer of Rochelle and Jane (Kelli) McCaslin of Dixon; son: Dan McCaslin of Steward; sisters: Ramona Munyon of Maurice, LA, Mary (Ron) Korth of Rochelle and Alice McCaslin of Vernon Hills, IL: grandchildren: Brad (Missy) Messer, Steve (Stephanie) Messer, Jake Messer, Chris Butler, Laura (Troy) Butler-Davis, and Lauren, Ben, D.J. and Madison McCaslin; great grandchildren: Noah, Owen and Crew Messer and Paige Davis.
Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Friday, Feb. 17, at 10:00 AM with Chaplain Judy Williams. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. A memorials is being established.
