Raymond "Dale" Rains, 59, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Oregon, IL. Dale, the son of Raymond B. and Genevieve (Berkheimer) Rains was born May 28, 1957 in Rochelle, IL.

Dale loved being outside doing anything from mowing his yard to camping to fishing. He had a love of horses since he was a child. He was a big man with a big heart and enjoyed helping others; making others laugh and smile was all he needed in return. He valued family and family traditions ranging from holidays to his love of music to playing his guitar and singing with his long time friend and neighbor, Kenny Murray, and his family.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Raymond; brother, Mark and long time friend, Kenny Murray.

He is survived by friend/mother of his children, Tonya Cooper, two daughters: Lindsey Cooper and Allyssa Rains; two grandchildren: Jayden Dale and Shaelin Rae; his mother, Genevieve Rains; brother, Russell Rains; two sisters: Dawn (Bob) Pittman and Korrena Sutton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 16 at the funeral home with Pastor Jared Cochran officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
