Rex Charles Corson, 66, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois. Rex was born on June 21, 1955 to Charles and Wanda (Baker) Corson in Sycamore, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Rex was the drummer and singer with the band, Free Time. He was active in Rochelle Little League for 27 years, coaching and former vice president of the league. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Rex is survived by his three sons: Darren Corson of Batesville, AR, David (Holly) Corson of Paw Paw, IL and Darik (Kari) Corson of Chana, IL; brother, Jack Tipton of Rochelle; four sisters: Jacque (Rod) Schairer, Alice Tipton, Tamela Tipton and Maria Corson-Sullivan; six grandchildren: Zack, Ashley, CJ, Awbree, Ryan and Hailey; and two great grandsons: Ethan and Brayden.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 13 at the funeral home with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
