Richard L. Dodd, age 85, of Rochelle, IL passed away March 22, 2008 at Oregon Healthcare.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Austin and Merle (Cooper)
Dodd. Richard graduated from Iowa State University and was employed as an engineer
for American National Can, retiring in 1989. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and
the Korean War.

On September 4, 1986, he married Donna L. Kettleson in Minneapolis, MN. Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a life member of VFW Post 3878. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Roanoke, VA, the Kerrville Elks Lodge #2081 and the Medina Shrine of Chicago. His parents and a brother: Arthur preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife: Donna of Rochelle; a step daughter: Karen (Ron) Mellott of Glen Ellen, IL and 2 step sons: Brad (Linda) Kettleson and Jon (Tammy) Kettleson both of Rochelle, IL; 9 Grandchildren: Brandon, Ben, Hailey, Jimmy, Tony, Abbey, Jacob, Neil, and Andy.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle, IL with Rev. Dr. John Hamilton officiating, on April 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM with military services by VFW Post 3878. Unger-Horner Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements and cremation rites. Burial of cremains will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers: Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, Ogle County Hospice of to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
