Richard "Fuzzy" M. Fenton Sr, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Rockford, Illinois. Fuzzy was born February 10, 1939 to Everett and Sybyl (Floyd) Fenton in Sims, Illinois. He proudly served with the United States Army. Fuzzy married Doneta "Mary" Reynolds on December 10, 1966 in Rochelle. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2000. He worked for Del Monte Foods for 32 years. Fuzzy enjoyed fishing and finding great deals at the Chana Sale Barn.
He was friendly to everyone and didn't know a stranger.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by five sisters: Joan White, Betty Glenn, Wilma Smith, Mary Ellen Fenton and Wanda Stevenson, and his father and mother in law: Eugene and Doneta Reynolds.
Fuzzy is survived by his children: Christy (Jessie) Laroe of Wayne City, IL, Richard (Regina) Fenton, Jr. of Rochelle, Theresa (Rick) Rucker of Leaf River, IL, Emma Fenton of Rochelle, Margaret (Michael) Brown of Rockford, IL and Shana (John) Phillips of Harker Heights, TX; sister, Elsie Austin of Sims, IL; ten grandchildren: Joshua Charles (Amber) Mosher, Jacob C. Mosher, Michael R. (Katherine) Mosher, Anthony (Jennifer) Rucker, Cory Rucker, Curtis Rucker, Andrew P. Rucker, Alicia M. Zuniga, Paul M. Zuniga III and Alex Brown; five great grandchildren: Elijah and Madison Mosher, Lillianna Rucker, Alexander Rucker and Kadin A. Zuniga.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 24 at the funeral home with Pastor Al Roose officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle with military rites provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
