Richard M. Gittleson, 81, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Katherine Shaw Bethea in Dixon, IL. Richard was born on December 1, 1940 to Marvin and Esther A. (Lipske) Gittleson in Rochelle. He worked at Sears for many years until it closed in 1981. He also worked at Eaton's and at Walmart the last 20 years before he officially retired.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Haas and two brothers: Kenneth and Wayne Gittleson.

Richard is survived by one brother, Russ Gittleson of Belvidere, IL; two sisters-in-law: Kay Gittleson of Oregon, IL and Patsy Gittleson of Aberdeen, MS; brother-in-law: Bill Haas of Rochelle and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday at the funeral home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. A memorial will be established.
