Richard I. Thompson, 93 of Lindenwood, IL passed away on Dec. 30, 2011 at Rochelle Community Hospital. He was born on Dec. 21, 1918 in Curwensville, PA
to John Frank and Nora (Black) Thompson and was one of 13 children. Richard farmed in Franklin Grove and then in Lindenwood. He married Mary F. Hipps on June 29, 1946 in Curwensville, PA. During WWII, he served in the US Army as a tank driver. Memberships include Kings Presbyterian Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers, a daughter: Bonita Gail Dimmig, and son: Donald.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Lindenwood; 2 sons: Thomas R. (Peggy) Thompson of Lindenwood and Ronald L. Thompson of Winnebago, IL; 2 sisters: Alice Bauwmam of Redding, CA and Nora Lydic of Jenesse, PA, and 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Cremation rites arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home. There will be no services and memorials can be made to Lindenwood Fire Dept. or Holcomb Fire Dept.
