Ricky D. Hurst Sr., 58, passed away surrounded by his loving family Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Sycamore, Illinois. Ricky was born September 23, 1957 to Harry and Maggie (Harris) Hurst in Rochelle, IL. He married Debbie R. Rewerts. Ricky worked for Silgan for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping and Craig's Listing. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Finley and niece, Stephanie Finley.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Kirkland; five children: Tricia (Charlie) Nicolay of Rochelle, Christina (Cory) Tveit of Stillman Valley, IL, Ricky (Brandy) Hurst of Kirkland, Alyssa (Brad Paulsen) Hurst of DeKalb, IL and Tyler Hurst of Rochelle; brother, William "Bill" (Sam) Hurst of Creston, IL; sister, Dell (Eric) Murray of Woodstock, IL; brother-in-law, James Finley of Judsonia, AR; mother-in-law, Patricia Rewerts of Kirkland; three grandchildren: Mychaela Hurst, Rayna Whidby and Ryan Newland; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Gracie and Marley and pet cow, Arthur Otis.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, July 31 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Opportunity House.
