Rita Ann Holt, 77, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Liberty Village of Princeton. Rita was born on February 9, 1942 to Thurman "TL" and Vivian (Eppes) Holt in Memphis, Tennessee.

Rita overcame many challenges in her life time and lived a full and happy life. She was a blessing to all who knew her and brought much joy to her family and friends. She lived at home with her mother and father until the age of 64 when she needed a little more assistance due to health needs. Despite facing new health challenges at that time, Rita embraced life and was excited to have her own "apartment" and new "job" at the workshop. The staff at her new home's became her friends and she grew to love them all as family throughout her time with them. Rita was a member of the Church of Christ in Rochelle.

Rita is survived by her mother, Vivian Holt; sister, Lynda (Ron) Sassaman both of Rochelle; nephews: Tim (Heather), Jim (Kaitlyn) and Tom (Lori) Potts; step nieces: Kim (Greg) Burgess and Sherri (Kevin) Smith and many cousins.

The visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M., with preachers Dominic Venuso and David Diestelkamp officiating. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
