ROBERT W. BARRON, age 85, of Rochelle, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. He was born on August 24, 1925, the son of Walter and Julia Barron. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Ruck on October 13, 1962 in Gurnee, IL, she preceded him in death on June 25, 2005. Bob owned and operated a TV and Radio Store in North Chicago, taught electronics, worked for Zenith Radio Corporation as a training manager, and then owned and operated the Ace Hardware Store in Rochelle for 25 years before retiring in 1999. He served during WWII in the US Marine Corps. He was an avid pilot, a Shriner, raising money for the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, volunteered for Focus House in Rochelle, IL, the Rockford Rescue Mission and was an active member with the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Lane and sister Mary. Survivors include son: Rob (Maria) Barron of Orangevale, CA, step son: Steve Wall of Rochester, IN, step daughter: Debbie (Mark) Such of Woodridge, IL, 3 grandchildren Matthew, Michael, and Timothy Such.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Rochelle on Wednesday, December 29. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 28 from 4 - 7pm at the Unger Horner Funeral Home.
