Robert G. Crawford, 88 formerly of Cortland IL, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his home. He was born on Aug. 26, 1923 in West Union, Ohio, the son of Kirker M. and Rowena Potts Crawford. Robert was a veteran in the US Army and proudly served in the South Pacific during WWII. Robert married Mary H. Hile in 1947 in Maysville, KY. Robert moved to Illinois where he worked for Barber Greene as a machinist. After retirement he returned to Ohio where he enjoyed hunting small game and walking the ridge. He returned to Illinois to be with his family after an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be missed by his family & friends but will be remembered fondly by many for years to come.

Survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Mary Crawford of Creston, son: Edward (Dawn) Crawford of Creston; 2 grandchildren: Joshua and Alexis Crawford; and his sister: Anna Lou Demint of West Union, OH.

Robert will be returned to his beloved state of Ohio were a private family service will be held, cremation rites have been accorded.
