Robert Dean Dennis, 86, gracefully joined the Lord, surrounded by his family, October 6, 2013 in Madison, WI. He was born October 11, 1926 in Danville, OH to Walter Erwin and Ruth Lavina (Eley) Dennis. Bob is a W.W. II veteran having served our country with the United States Army. He worked as a manager for Caron International for over 40 years. He married Grace Margaret Walton on May 18, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, OH. She passed away on March 9, 1989. Bob then married Nerina Dapiran Castor on February 16, 1991 in Rochelle. He was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church in Rochelle. Bob was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Cammie Thompson, on September 12, 2013.
As an avid golfer, Bob had three holes-in-one in his lifetime with two of the three being in the same week! In addition to golfing, he enjoyed walking, wintering in Florida and the company of his great friends. He was a member of the Golden K in Rochelle. Bob will be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Nerina, son, Tom (Kari) Dennis of Hilbert, WI, daughter,Tamara (Allen) Martin of Rochelle, step-son, Dominic (Debra) Castor of Simpsonville, SC, step-son-in-law, Dale Thompson of Fort Wayne, IN, brother, Bill Dennis of Howard, OH, two sisters: Mable Mizer of Mt. Vernon, OH and Dollie Stumbaugh of Apple Creek, OH; 8 grandchildren: Jarrin, Collin, Lindley and Mia Dennis, Brittany (Jerimie) DeSantos, Alexis and Madeline Martin and Lorne Thompson and one great-grandson, Camden DeSantos.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church with Pastor Cindy Marino officiating. The visitation will be the same day from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. at the church. Burial is at the Flagg Center Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight.
