Robert F. Everest, age 94, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. He was born on September 16, 1919 in Boyne City, MI, the son of Ethan J. and Nancy Lord Everest. Robert married Beulah Swanson on October 15, 1941 in Big Rapids, MI, she preceded him in death on April 12, 2011. Robert retired in 1986 from Kysor of Byron. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 3878. Also preceded in death by his son, Gordon Robert Everest; 3 brothers: George, Ethie and Theodore; and 2 sisters: Etta Holcomb, and Madeline Percy.

Survived by his son, John (Kathy) Everest of Rochelle, daughter, Jenny (Larry) Potts of Rochelle, 7 grandchildren: Lori Halverson, Robert (Cindy) Halverson, Terry (Roberta) Everest, Jason (Terry) Everest, Aaron (Candyce) Everest, Josh (Sandy) Everest, and Chad (Katie) Everest; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 am on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 - 4 pm.
Memorials to VFW Post 3878 and Unity Hospice.
Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
