Robert D. Hand, age 79 of Davis Junction, IL, passed away on Monday , January 28, 2008 at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born on Oct. 30, 1928 in Aurora, IL, the son of Oscar E. and Johanna
(Ponto) Hand. Bob married Evelyn L. Brink on Nov. 5, 1949 in Rochelle. He was an
electrician and retired from Barber-Coleman in Rockford in 1990 and then worked 10 years for Kohl's in Rockford. He was a member of the Esmond United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Davis Junction, a son: Jeffrey (Kathryn) Hand of Harvard, IL; a daughter: Patricia (Walter) Roush of Esmond, IL; 3 grandchildren: Eric Roush, Sara (Jason)
Quincer and Katie Roush; 3 step grandchildren: David, Elizabeth and Jennifer Vander-Vennet;
2 step great grandchildren: Ashley and Rachel.

Services will be held at the Esmond United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Ben Rocke. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, Jan. 31st at Unger-
Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. In lieu of flowers: a memorial has been established to the Esmond United Methodist Church. Burial will be at White Rock Cemetery in Kings, IL.
