Robert Eugene White, age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the U.W. Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.  He was born on March 25, 1946 in Lincoln, IL to Burnell and Eileen (Shane) White.  Bob served in the U.S. Navy.  He married Judith L. Scharlow on May 3, 1969 in Bartlett, IL.  Bob owned and operated the White Hen Pantry in Sycamore before later retiring from Northern Illinois University, where he worked in materials management. He is preceded in death by his parents, Burnell and Eileen.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Judy White of 56 years of Rochelle; his son, Brian (Bridget) White of Davis Junction; his daughter, Brooke (White) Dowty of Davis Junction; seven grandchildren—Alexis (Mike) Schroeder, Elizabeth White, Austin Dowty, Alyssa Dowty, Abigail Ptaszek, Carolyn Ptaszek, and James McAvoy; three great-grandchildren—Ryder, Ellie, and Liliana; and his sister, Judy Park of Hampshire.

Visitation will be from 9 - 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the Unger Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Rogula  Officiating.  Burial will follow at the Flagg Center Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Eastern-Lee Ogle Honor Guard, and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
