Roberta moved to Illinois in 1981 after the death of her mother. After raising nine children of her own by herself in the hills of Kentucky, it still wasn't enough for our mom. Upon arriving here she carried on her love of caring for children for many years. Hundreds of kids have passed through our mom's life and she showed each one so much love. Our mother had so much love and respect for other people and she always kept her faith in God. Years of diabetes complications lead to more than her body could stand, so the Lord carried her home where she is now at peace.
Your gentle face and patient smile with sadness we'll recall,
You had a kindly word for each and were loved by all.
Your voice is mute, your heart is stilled that loved us well and true,
You poured out your love for one and all there will never be another you.
Thank you mom for the many years of love you gave us. Life will never be the same here on earth.
