Roberto Seijas, "Rafael Hernandez", age 58 of Rochelle, passed away on May 15, 2008,
in Topeka, KS. He was born on March 12, 1950 in Juarez, Mexico, the son of Luis Antonio and
Maria Cruz (Cana) Seijas, who preceded him in death, along with a brother: Antonio Seijas. He was an operator machinist for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad.
Survivors include his wife: Maria Teresa Seijas of Rochelle; 3 daughters: Lupe Ponce and Pedro Ponce of Rochelle, Sally (Hal) Rice of Rochelle, and Maria "Lenie" (Phil) Keller of Byron, IL; 7 grandchildren: Jovanna and Jalesa Ponce, Audriana, Katarina and Bailey Rice and Karli and Emily Keller; 2 brothers: Luis Seijas of Santa Fe, NM, and Rafá Seijas of Ciudad Juarez Mexico; and a sister Cecilia Seijas of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Services will be held at St. Patrick Church on Tuesday, May 20th at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Monday, May 19th from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial has been
established. Burial at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.
