Roberta "Robin" Jane Burton Plumley 58, of Rochelle, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family after years of battling ovarian cancer.


She was born on Dec. 15, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Charles "Chuck" and Ruby (Frye) Burton. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1974 and attended Northern Illinois University. She worked over 30 years as a software developer for the companies of Kollmorgen, Pacific-Scientific, Rockford Powertrain and Wurlitzer.
Robin was united in marriage to Randall L. Plumley. Together they raised three children, Angela Robin Berry, Matthew Kelly Plumley, and Sarah Jane Plumley.


Robin enjoyed traveling with her family throughout the United States. One of her favorite places visited were the mountains of Colorado. Robin loved cooking and passing on her recipes to her family. She loved gardening and raising her three beagles, but her real passion in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed dearly.


Robin was preceded in death by her parents Chuck and Ruby Burton. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Randy, of Rochelle, daughters Angel (Rochelle) and husband to be Chris Lohse, Sarah (Chicago), and son Matt (Rochelle); granddaughter Faith.

The Family wishes to thank all members of the Swedish American Home Health Care and Heartland Hospice providers; the nurses, health aides, social workers, caregivers, chaplains and volunteers for their continued support and unwavering friendship.
