Roger B. Austin, 67, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of Lindenwood, IL; passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, Wed., Aug. 15, 2012 at his home.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1945 in Rochelle, IL the son of Jake and Anna Ruth (Eckhardt) Austin. Roger married Janice Lynn Hill April 21, 1966 in Rockford, IL. Roger was employed as an electrician by the Byron Nucular Power Plant for 12 years, Ingersoll Milling for 14 years and retired in 2010 from Barron Industries.

Roger loved NASCAR, picnics on the Mississippi and restoring his 55 ford. Most of all Roger loved playing with his grand kids and spending time together with his wife and best friend Janice. He also enjoyed time with his best friend Harold Pagles. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Nameer Al Mardini and Dr. Edgcomb for their compassionate care.

Survivors include his wife Janice of Lindenwood, sons: Bryan Austin and Steven (Annette) Austin, both of Byron, IL; Daughter: Dawn (John Johnston) Eisenhauer of Lakewood, IL; brothers: Bob (Shirley) Austin of Black River Falls, WI, and Mike (Linda) Austin of Stillman Valley, IL; sister: Linda (Kenny) Cook of Kirkland, IL; grandchildren: Ryan, Matthew, Maxwell, Connor, Collin, Tristen and Matt and Mariah McMullen, Danny and Brittany Johnston; great-grandchild: Braden.

Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, Aug. 20th, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Visitation Sunday Aug. 19th, from 4-7 PM at Unger-Horner Funeral Home
Burial will be at Big Mound Cemetery. Memorials to be established.
