Ronald L. Ellis 77 of Rochelle, died August 4, 2008. He was born March 15, 1931 in Quincy, IL the son of Walter A. and Florence A. Anderson Ellis. He married Alice Jeanette McCaffrey on June 7, 1952 in Amboy, IL. Ron was a 1949 graduate of Amboy Township High School and 1953 graduate of IL State University. He taught for 28 years and had also been employed
by Del Monte Corp., Caron International, St. Anthony Hospital, Chrysler Motors, and National
Lock. Ron was a teacher and coach at Rochelle Township High School from 1983-1993 and retired June 1, 1993. Member of the Kiwanis Golden K and St Patrick Catholic church.

Survivors include his Wife: Alice of Rochelle; 4 sons: Ron (Deanna) Ellis of Cottage Grove, MN, Mike (Neliza) Ellis of Davis Junction, IL, Tom (Karen) Ellis of Steward, IL, and Tim (Cindy) Ellis of Arlington, TX; 3 daughters: Jan (Ronald) Heal of Creston, IL, Susan (Merle)
Metzger of Rochelle, Diane (Mike)York of DeKalb, IL, brother: Arnold E. Ellis of Oswego, IL.
18 Grandchildren: Adam Heal; Alicia, Melissa, Tricia, Katie, Danny, Patrick, Anna, Cory, Tracy,
Jessie, Audrey and Colin Ellis; Scott, Bridget and Shanna Metzger; and Monica and Aaron York. Great Grandson: Nolan Meier.

Dad was exceptionally proud of all his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. Ron was
a loving husband for 56 years. He loved to discuss his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Green
Bay Packers with his friends. We'll miss you Dad!

Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at 10:00 AM
with Rev. David Peck. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St.
Rochelle, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Memorials to
St. Patrick Church.
