Ron passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born on October 2, 1943 in DeKalb, IL to Mark and Mabel (Williams) Tilton. On July 1, 1995, he married Mariann D. Berg of Rochelle, IL in Hayward, WI. Ron attended Fischer School, a one room schoolhouse, before graduating from Rochelle Township High School. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Physical Education.

After graduation, Ron returned to Rochelle to begin his career in banking where he eventually served as President and Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank of Rochelle. His career in banking spanned 52 years. During his career, Ron was heavily involved in many community events and organizations.

Ron is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mariann of Chana, IL; two sons: Scott (Ann) Tilton of Green Lake, WI and Chad (Amanda) Tilton of Dixon, IL; daughter, Dana (Jerry) Barth of Dacula, GA; five grandchildren: Joshua Wiggins, Zac and Dayton Barth, Walker and Waverlee Tilton; close relatives, Kim and Becky Huntley and their sons, Daniel (Allison) Huntley and Geoff (Kaylie) Huntley, Jennifer Tilton and Jeff Maier.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two brothers: Theodore L. Tilton and Mark O. Tilton.

The visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 22 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 19 Perry Road, Lee, IL with Pastor Martha Nelson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Washington Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Ron's memory to Rochelle Area Community Foundation, Shriners Children's Hospital or Washington Grove Cemetery.
