Ronald "Sod" William Davidson 72, formerly of Creston, IL passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Cape Coral, Florida. Ron was born on March 10, 1950, the son of John and Juanita (Stone) Davidson in Rochelle, IL.

He was a third generation farmer, farming the same ground has his father, John and grandfather, William. In addition to farming, Ron owned Davidson Grain Inc., Davidson Farms Inc. and Davidson Farm's Trucking. After wintering in Cape Coral, FL for 10 years, he and his wife, Carol, moved there in 2020.

Ron is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol of Cape Coral, FL; son, John Davidson of Creston, IL; daughter, Tammy Davidson of Cookville, TN; two step children: Joe (Jeannette) Forbes of Effingham, IL and Hadley Forbes of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Karna (Jim) Gross of Rochelle, IL; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and his dearly loved puppies, Ruby and Diamond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Juanita Davidson, his grandma, Vicki and his grandma and grandpa Davidson.

The visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, October 29 at the funeral home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, IL.
