Ronnie Ray Benson, 60, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ronnie was born March 31, 1959 in Memphis, TN, the son of Johnnie and Georgia (Mace) Benson. He married Julie Carter on October 10, 2010 in Rochelle.

Ronnie worked for the Eaton Corporation for almost 22 years and then with Ryder for almost 13 years. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family and hunting. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Julie Benson, of Davis Junction; two children, Michael (Jackie) Jacobs of Aurora and Kristina Seaworth of Rockford; three grandchildren, Kelsey Smice, Ashley Seaworth, and Alexis Seaworth; a great-grandson, Kameron Lewis; two brothers, Dannie Benson and Ryan Benson, both of Davis Junction; and a loving niece and nephew, Nicole Rutledge and Justin Rutledge.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
