Roxanne Barton, 74, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at her daughter's home in Clinton, IL with her family by her side. Roxanne was born April 27, 1942 to Clayton and Emma (Hunley) Withrow in Rockford, IL. She married Charles "Douglas" Barton on September 2, 1961 in Fairfield, IL. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2009. She worked as a secretary for Walker-Schork International for 20 years and went on to work for Nestle Corp. in DeKalb, IL for 11 years before retiring. In her retirement, she volunteered at the Hope Chest and loved working at the elementary schools in Rochelle. She and Doug spent many years traveling to see family but her greatest joy was spending time with family especially her nine grandchildren and great-grandson. She will always be remembered for her quick smile and kind heart.

Roxanne is survived by her children: Clay Barton of Watertown, SD, Crystal (John Baldwin) West of Clinton, IL and Curt (Tonya) Barton of Amboy, IL; two sisters: Irene (Ken) Griffith of Rochelle, IL and Lee (Rick) Reed of Stillman Valley, IL; brothers-in-law: Rick (JoAnn) Barton of Kaiser, MO and Mike (Donna) Waltman of Columbia Falls, MT; sister-in-law, Judy Cook of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren: Laci, Lani and CJ Barton, Dillion and Kyle West, Gage and Jenna Chipman and Riley and Justin Barton; great-grandchild, Kayden Douglas West and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 11 at the funeral home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
