Roy O. Whipple, of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at Bethany Health Care Center in DeKalb. He was born on Feb. 1, 1930 in Wyanet, IL to Roy Earl and Edith Ione (Allen) Whipple . Roy married Pauline May "Lois" Jackson on Sept. 6, 1959 in Rochelle and she preceded him on July 16, 2004. Also preceded by his parents. He managed The House Of Bottles and also worked for the Illinois Tollway. Roy was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing and was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include son: Rob of Rochelle; step son: Dan (Andrea) Kluss of Palatine, IL;
daughter: Susan (Jeff) Waddell of Sycamore, IL; brother Earl of Princeton, IL and a sister Dorothy (James) Seymore of Xenia, IL. Grand Children Josh Waddell and Krissy (Mark) Mommsen. Step Grandchildren Danny and Lisa Kluss.

Services will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
with Rev. Dr. James Tilley. Visitation Sunday 2 to 4 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home.

Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to Alzheimer fund or Provena Geneva Care Center.
