Ruth V. Martinez, 90, of Rochelle, passed away on Wed., Nov. 16, 2011 at her home with her family by her She was born on June 4, 1921 Lee County, AR to Henry and Alice (Gibson) Foster. Ruth married Jesus Martinez on Sept.18, 1941, in Amarillo, TX and he preceded her
in death on Dec. 10, 1976. Also preceding her were a son: Phillip Martinez on Nov. 1, 1990 and granddaughter: Angie Martinez; grandson: Nathan Martinez; great-grandson: Abraham Muhammad; sister: Ruby Climer; brother: Willie Foster. She had previously been employed by Eaton Controls and DelMonte in Rochelle for many years before retiring. She was a friend to everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be missed very much by all who knew her. Ruth loved sewing, quilting and gardening. The family would like to thank Dr. Mohammad Yasin, Nurse Kelly from Cresent Home Health Care, and Unity Hospice especially CNA, Maria.

Survivors include 5 sons: Raymond (Darlene) Martinez of Newport, AR, Jessie (Paula) Martinez of Baton Rouge, LA, Frank (Wanda) Martinez of Waverly, IA, Steve (Roslyn) Martinez of Rochelle, and Kenny (Mary Ann) Martinez of Hillsboro, MO: 7 daughters: Barbara Martinez, of Stantonsburg, NC, Victoria Brake of Janesville, WI, Virginia (Raymond) Rodriguez of Mocksville, NC, Lena (Mike) King of Orangeville, IL, Shirley Martinez of Rochelle, Delnora Martinez of Rochelle and Janetta Zepeda of Burbank,CA; 54 grandchildren; 101 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Service at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, at 11:30 AM, Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, with Rev. David W. Reish. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 20th from 2 to 5 PM at Unger-Horner. Memorials to be established. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
