Obituary
Ruth Rapp Olson, 91, formerly of Steward, and Elmhurst IL, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at The Alverno in Clinton, IA. She was born on April 8, 1920 in Summerfield, KS to
Arthur C. and Vera Anna (Sinclair) Rapp. She received her Bachelors Degree from IL State Teachers College in Normal, IL and Masters Degree in Education from the University of WI in Madison, and taught school in Dixon, Steward and Elmhurst, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Robert Rapp; and sister: Vera Arne. Ruth loved spending time with her grandchildren, was a life long fan of the Chicago Cubs and member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include daughter: Sara (Peter) Gregory of Chicago, IL; sister: Joan (Jim) Bidle of
North Muskegon, MI; two grandchildren: Chris and Meredith Gregory and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home at 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle, IL on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Vaughn Peterson officiating and a visitation from noon until service time on Saturday. Burial will be at Steward Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Memorials to Brickton Montessori School at 8622 W. Catalpa Ave., Chicago, IL 60656 or Genesis Hospice at 611 N. 2nd St. in Clinton, IA 52732.
