Ruth E. Schoonhoven, 94, of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Franklin Grove Nursing Home. She was born in Rochelle, IL, on December 6, 1912, the daughter of John and Marie (Hetland) Jorgensen. Ruth graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1931, and later from Bowles College of Commerce in Rockford. She was employed by American Insurance Co. of Rockford, IL, and, later by DelMonte Corp. in Rochelle. Ruth married Howard Schoonhoven on July 5, 1942, in Creston, IL, and he preceded her on April 16, 1985.
She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle and was a member of the Ruth Circle and also was chairman of the Prayer Chain for several years. Ruth is survived by a son: James of Davis Junction, IL and daughter: Margel (John) Kaminky of Rochelle; a brother: Arvine Jorgensen of Walhalla, ND.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle, on Monday, July 23, 2007, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Black, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 10 to 11 AM.
