Ruth L. Totten, 91, formerly of Chana, IL. passed away on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at Rochelle
Gardens. She was born on July 5, 1919 on their family farm in Steward, IL to M. William and Ruth Elizabeth (Barnett) Ravnaas. Ruth married Murlin T. Totten on July 14, 1944 in Denver, CO. and he preceded her on Sept. 7, 2002. She was an active member of the Steward United Methodist Church. She was a school teacher in Lee Center for two years and enjoyed being a farmer's wife. Ruth was preceded by her son George A. Totten Nov. 28, 1987. Two sisters: Marjorie Eiselstein and Phyllis Ravnaas Jones.

Survivors include her daughter Karen (Leslie) Bonnell of Steward, IL: granddaughters;
Jessica Bonnell of DeKalb, IL and Tonia (Todd Flemming) Bonnell of Denver, CO.
brother: Martin Ravnaas; two sisters; Shirley Kersten and Rose Anne (Wayne) Kersten both of Rochelle.

Services will be held at the Steward United Methodist Church Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 10:00 AM with Rev. Vaughn E. Peterson. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Monday Aug. 9 from 4-7 P.M. Memorials can be made to Steward United Methodist Church or the Ogle County Hospice. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens.
